CSSC Newcastle Sports

If you are interested in taking part in a particular sport, let one of the volunteers know.

Latest sports from CSSC

Tony Adams, CSSC NE’s Business Development Executive, has sent details of the following upcoming sports events. All enquires regarding these events should be directed to Tony or the named organiser.

Teams or individuals who win the event will be invited to take part in a national final - an all-expenses paid overnight trip - and potentially special leave with pay (subject to Departmental agreements).

Of course these events are great fun even if you’re not interested in winning.

Contact the organisers below for more information.

You have to be a CSSC member to participate, if your not a member already, contact tony.adams@cssc.co.uk or call 0191 2252890 for a free membership form.

Outdoor falt green bowls

Bowls is a great form of exercise for those who do not fancy the aerobic exertion of some sports, but still want to stay active, enjoy the company of others and maybe even a bit of friendly competition.

All CSSC Newcastle Area members will find a warm welcome at the Newcastle Estate Sports and Leisure Bowls club, who play at the Blue Flames Sports Ground on Whitley Road.

Alternatively, if you are only after a serious competition, the CSSC Newcastle Area (Outdoor Flat Green Bowls Section) is to hold Area bowls qualification competitions during June & July to decide on the team representatives for our Area's team to compete in the English National Civil Service Championships.

The Section organises singles, pairs, triples and fours knockout qualifying events each year (played under England Bowling Association [EBA] rules) to select the Area's team to compete in the National Championships that are held every August Bank Holiday week - normally at Royal Leamington Spa.

CSSC Newcastle Area normally help with the costs of travel and accommodation for the team to travel to the National Championships.

The Area qualifying competitions are open to all members of CSSC Newcastle Area, however, there is a small fee to cover competition entry fees.

The closing date for the Area competition entry is 26th May 2008.

Any CSSC Newcastle Area member wishing to join in the Area competitions and/or become an Area Bowls member, please contact:

Do you want some ?????'s off the cost of your sport?

CSSC Newcastle will help in funding teams or individuals taking part in recognised CSSC Sports competitions and events. As long as it is an official CSSC Sports and Leisure activity, we may consider funding your entry fee, accommodation (over £10 per night) and/or travel costs.

If you see an advert for an event or like the look of something you want to have a go at, contact us . . . remembering to quote your CSSC Membership number. We will help you as much as our budgets will allow.

We will also help with your costs if you want to enter a local league or cup competition. All we ask is that your team is called “CSSC Newcastle” and is comprised entirely of CSSC members (full, or Associate).

You are the member and it’s the rebates from your subscriptions that we want to spend on you! Why not help us to spend it?
