CSSC TEAMS UP WITH BEAMISH

For 2008, CSSC Newcastle Area has renewed the discount for CSSC nationally on entry prices for members to the world renowned, award winning, Beamish Open Air Museum. Beamish is unique - it's no ordinary museum, but a vast, living and working experience of life as it was in the Great North in the early 1800s and 1900s. And it's a great day out for people of all ages and interests!

In May, June, September and October 2008, with the exception of Bank Holiday weekends (including Bank Holiday Mondays), members presenting their CSSC membership card and civil service security ID pass will be entitled to the following special
prices:-

• Adults (normal standard summer entry £16) - CSSC price £11
• Child (5 - 16 years, standard summer entry £10) - CSSC price £6
• Children under 5 are always admitted free of charge
• Sixty Plus (normal standard summer entry £12.50) - CSSC price £10

Each member - and up to a further 5 people in their party - will be entitled to these special rates!!!

Retired and Associate members without civil service ID passes will need, in addition to their membership card, some other form of ID that includes their photograph, e.g. passport, photo driving license or bus pass.

The above offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount offer or concession.

Calling all bowlers

Are you interested in playing outdoor bowls? Bowls is a great form of exercise for those who do not fancy the aerobic exertion of
some sports, but still want to stay active, enjoy the company of others and maybe even a bit of friendly competition.

All CSSC Newcastle Area members will find a warm welcome at the Newcastle Estate Sports and Leisure Bowls club, who play at the Blue Flames Sports Ground on Whitley Road. To organise a taster session, contact:

The Levellers in concert - 20 years old and still going strong.

Once again in association with gigbox.co.uk, CSSC Newcastle is able to offer its members exclusive cut price tickets for more concerts in 2008 - the first of which is the Levellers live at the Newcastle Academy.

As part of their 20th year celebrations the Levellers will perform on 23rd May playing songs from their forthcoming studio album "Letters from the
Underground" which will be out in the summer.

Advance tickets plus booking fee are £19.30 but we can offer them for £8 for CSSC members (£15 for guests)

5 a side football kicks off again

We have chosen a fantastic brand new venue for this years 5-a-side competition: Complete Football, Gosforth Park, Newcastle.

Want to be on Match of the Day? Well not quite, but it's the nearest thing we have to it, after the event, you can
retire to the bar and watch the highlights of each game, including every goal you score in the competition on the plasma TV's

We are holding the event on the 1st June 2008 with a 10am kick off time

The closing date for all teams will be the 25th April, so please complete the forms and send to the address given on the form.

The cost per team is only £25.

The winning team will be invited to represent the North East at this year's National Final an all-expenses paid overnight trip, with 2 days special leave (subject to line managers discretion and business needs)
